Girls Who Code (GWC)

Having had the opportunity to participate in two Girls Who Code (GWC) programs—the GWC Self-Paced Program in Fall 2023 and the GWC SIP (Summer Intensive Program) in Summer 2024—has significantly enriched my journey into the realms of technology and programming.

The GWC programs have served as catalysts for expanding my technical horizons and fostering a profound appreciation for the impactful potential of technology. Immersed in the realms of data science, web development, and cybersecurity, I've solidified my understanding of fundamental programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. These languages now serve as the cornerstone of my proficiency as a programmer and budding website developer.

Moreover, the collaborative ethos embedded within the GWC community has honed my teamwork and communication abilities, which are indispensable for navigating the complexities of web development projects. Through interactions with peers from diverse backgrounds, I've cultivated a mindset of creative problem-solving and adaptability.

Above all, the overarching emphasis of GWC on leveraging technology for social good has deeply resonated with me. It has ignited a sense of purpose within me, compelling me to utilize my technical skills to effect positive change in my community. As I set forth on the endeavor of crafting websites for Art for a Cause, I draw profound inspiration from GWC's mission of empowering women in technology and contributing meaningfully to the broader knowledge ecosystem.
