As part of our ongoing outreach efforts, we initiated our journey with the DSACT Buddy Walk in September 2023, a cause close to my heart due to my brother's experience with Down Syndrome. Rallying a team of dedicated friends, we embarked on a mission to raise funds and awareness for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas.

 

Through our collective efforts, we not only achieved our fundraising goals, generating an impressive $672 in proceeds, but also ensured that every cent was directed towards supporting vital resources and services for individuals and families impacted by Down syndrome. Active participation in the Buddy Walk event allowed us to contribute meaningfully to the cause, fostering a sense of community support and raising awareness. Engaging in various leadership activities, from team formation to event organization, we left a lasting impact on our community.

 

Our efforts were recognized and highlighted in the Four Points News [Four Points News, Oct 29th, 2023, Volume 20 Issue 25, page 21], further amplifying our message of advocacy and support to a wider audience. This initial outreach event served as a powerful catalyst, inspiring us to continue our mission of making a positive difference in the lives of those in need.
