BAE Systems FOCUS Program

Participating in the Fostering Opportunities and Careers Utilizing STEM (FOCUS) Program offered by BAE Systems during the Spring of 2024 has been a defining milestone in my technological journey. This immersive 13-week program provided me with unparalleled hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, offering a deep dive into the intricate nuances of robotics design and programming.

Selected as one of the exclusive ten candidates in Austin, Texas, I embraced the opportunity to expand my technical prowess and leadership skills. As the Lead Software Programmer within the FOCUS Program, I spearheaded the development of innovative solutions that earned accolades for our robot's inventive design and impeccable software code. This recognition not only reaffirmed my proficiency in coding and software development but also bolstered my confidence as a skilled programmer.

Beyond technical excellence, the FOCUS Program served as a crucible for honing my leadership and strategic planning abilities. Actively contributing to team strategy development and community outreach planning, I learned the importance of effective project management and stakeholder communication. These experiences equipped me with the acumen to navigate complex projects with finesse and precision—a skill set that is invaluable as I embark on the journey of developing websites for Art for a Cause.
